Ancient town Otrar (4 century BC) is located near to Turkestan. It was a big trade center too. Its famous library was inferior to the most renowned antiques libraries: Alexandria’s and Carthage’s. A world-known middle age philosopher Al-Farabi was born lived and worked there. Mongolian army razed to the ground this amazing city at the end of 13 century.
