A May Alpiniad in Uzbekistan is a annual traditional alpinist spring training sessions, whish are held in Chimgan Valley (Tyan-Shan, Chatkal range) not far away from Tashkent (80km) from 1 till 20 of May. The Chimgan sessions is an active rest, sporting ascensions, songs with guitar near the campfire in a friendly company , communication with people and nature. Every interested person can take a part; rated sportsman who wants to improve his skill level, the beginner who wants to become alpinists or just a mountain rest amateur. On a Big Chimgan -3309 m there are 14 routes with category of difficulty 1 B 4B and it is possible to make the ascension on any of this routes with the skilled instructor. Besides the Chimgan, you can go up the Okhotnichiy Peak. It is a neighboring Peak of 3099 m, and the routes with category of difficulty 3B and 4A will lead you there. You can visit Samarkand city and look at its architectural - historical monuments when the sporting program ends.
