National games and fun of Kazakhs
Endless steppes and fields covered with flowers, mountain peaks covered with snow, vast plateaus, arid deserts, deep rivers and virgin protected forests, a unique location in two parts of the world – Asia and Europe, and the fresh-salt lake Balkhash… All these are Kazakhstan.
A country with an ancient history, a country of nomadic people, whose national games are characterized by testing the ability to stay in the saddle, strength, endurance, dexterity and accuracy, cunning, resourcefulness…
Each participant can show all these skills and abilities in games such as:
Knocking down a timak when blindfolded... on a horse... after untwisting... you need to knock down a headdress with the kamcha;
Kyz kuu - during which you need to overtake a girl on a horse and catch her kiss, and then, on the way back you need to run away from her, receiving blows with kamcha;
Kokpar, where participants fight off each other's carcass of a sheep;
Audaryspak-horse fight, in which you need to prevent the rival rider from moving forward in every possible way;
Baiga - long-distance horse racing;
Tuime Alu – horse racing with the collecting of coins or stones during the race
Some games resemble Kyrgyz games, because these two brotherly people have long been nomadic and most of their games do not take place without the participation of horses, because the ability to stay in the saddle, the ability to pick up a horse and take care of it is an integral part of life in nomadism.
