Kolsay lakes are called the pearl of Northern Tien Shan. Three high-altitude lakes with steep, overgrown pine-tree slopes are located in the spurs of the Kungey-Alatau Ridge. Each lake has its own charm. In crystal clear blue water, there is a royal fish - rainbow trout.
This is a wonderful place for walks, horse ridings and biking.
The first lake is 1 km long at an altitude of 1818 m and road was laid to it. There you can find comfortable guest houses.
The middle Kolsay lake (2,252 m) is the largest and most beautiful, it is located 5 km up from the first lake.
Upper Kolsay is located 4 km futher and 600 m higher.
After another 6 km, on the Kyrgyz border, you can find the Sary-Bulak pass (3,278 m) with magnificent views of the blue Issyk-Kul lake. The entire journey (25 km) can be done on a horse in one day, on foot - for 3 days.
