Canyon Kulosya
Kulosya is the left tributary of the Koksu River near the village of Brichmulla. This is a mountain river flowing in a narrow canyon.
For tourists without the peculiarities of mountaineering training, Kulosya is interesting primarily for its lower gorges with the rocky water reservoirs and waterfalls: “Double”, the famous Cascade waterfall (aka “Book”), waterfall “Arka”, etc.
The relief of the rocky canyon in places is replaced by green slopes with an abundance of vegetation, which a little higher again turn into a narrow gorge with steep slopes.
Hiking along the Kulosya gorge will become easy, but still preparation is important. The trail passes through the small river, which needs to be traversed several times, some sections of the route must be waded through the water. In this regard, each participant most often should have replaceable shoes (light sneakers or crocs).
The lower gorges continue without the use of climbing equipment, although the skills of confident movement on rocky terrain are certainly necessary. The physical costs of the route are compensated by magnificent waterfalls - each of them is unique in its own way. Those who wish can swim and take a photo shoot right in the jets of the waterfall, the best rock bath for this is under the Arka waterfall.
Upstream, there are middle and upper gorges with cascades of waterfalls reaching a height of up to 28 meters, but their passage requires special equipment, including a dry-type wetsuit and special climbing (speleo) training.
