Tashkent – ​​Kokand – Rishtan

9:00 - 1:00 PM Transfer Tashkent-Kokand (240 km). After breakfast, we depart for the Fergana Valley, the most densely populated region of Uzbekistan, a land of farmers, gardeners, and artisans. Our route takes us through numerous villages, the mountain serpentines of the Kamchik Pass (2 km), and picturesque mountain valleys and gorges. Our first stop will be ancient Kokand, the capital of the once powerful Khanate and an important trading city on the Silk Road.
 
After lunch, a tour will take in the main sights of Kokand: the Khudoyar Khan Palace (1871), the Jami Mosque (1818), the Modari Khan Necropolis (1825), and Dakhmai Shakhon (1825).
We then continue to the small town of Rishtan (50 km, 1 hour), renowned since ancient times as the largest center for the production of unique glazed ceramics in Central Asia. We will visit the original Khoja Ilgor Mausoleum (19th century), the home and workshop of one of the famous ceramic masters, where we will learn about ceramic techniques, from clay mining and preparation to molding, sculpting, painting, and firing. You can also purchase original handmade ceramics here. A traditional Uzbek dastarkhan (dinner) will be served with a family.

Rishtan - Fergana - Margilan - Andijan - Namangan.

8:00 AM. Today we'll take a fascinating and informative excursion to the small town of Margilan, the Silk Capital of Uzbekistan. Margilan, a satellite city of Fergana, is located just 20 km (30 minutes' drive) from Fergana, and 60 km (70 minutes' drive) from Rishtan. Here we'll visit a silk center where the entire silk fabric production process is concentrated in one place, from unwinding the cocoons to dyeing the threads into the so-called original "abr" pattern, weaving fabrics on hand looms, and producing finished products: scarves, original clothing, and carpets.
 
We bid farewell to the splendor of silk and travel (90 km, 1.5 hours) to Andijan, the regional capital and second-largest city in the Fergana Valley. It is the birthplace of Babur, a descendant of the Timurids and Chingizids, ruler of Fergana and Kabul, padishah of Hindustan, and founder of the Mughal Empire in India.
 
Here we will have lunch and explore Andijan's main sights: the Jami minaret and madrasah (19th century); the Devanaboy mosque (19th century); the equestrian statue of Babur; Bogishamol Park; and a local bazaar with its stalls of artisans.
 
After exploring the city, we travel west to Namangan, the regional capital, the most populous city in the Fergana Valley, and the second-largest city in Uzbekistan after Tashkent (distance 75 km, travel time 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest.

Namangan – Chust – Tashkent

Today is the final day of our journey through the Fergana Valley. After breakfast, we'll explore Namangan, the City of Flowers (a colorful flower festival has been held here in May for over 60 years). Namangan doesn't have many historical monuments, but its architecture differs somewhat from the traditional architectural forms of the valley.
 
The oldest monument is the Khodjamna-Kabra Mausoleum (18th century). We'll also visit a colorful local bazaar, the original Mullo-Kirghiz Madrasah (early 20th century), the Ota Valikhon-Tura Madrasah and Mosque (early 20th century) with its large ribbed dome, 14 meters in diameter, and stroll through the city's shady Babur Park.
 
Next, we'll head to the small town of Chust, famous for its craftsmen. (Distance: 45 km, travel time: 1 hour.) Here, the famous traditional Uzbek knives (pichok) are forged and the famous "high" skullcaps are sewn. We will visit their workshops and the colorful local bazaar. We will also sample the famous Chust plov in a traditional Uzbek teahouse.
After a hearty lunch, we will depart for Tashkent (260 km), and in four hours we will arrive in the capital of Uzbekistan, where our journey ends.
