An exciting adventure and historical-educational express tour will introduce you to an amazing and unique corner of Kyrgyzstan in the Batken region. You will see the snow-capped peaks of the Turkestan Range, grand canyons, and ethnic villages. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Madigen Geopark. The geopark is home to unique geological and cultural heritage sites of international significance. Madigen has been nominated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. According to scientists, the geological layers of Madigen contain a vast amount of fossilized fauna and flora that depict the Earth's history over the past 400 million years.
Madigen is of interest not only to geologists and paleontologists but also to regular tourists, who will discover a variety of geological phenomena and photogenic landscapes of rare beauty. During the tour, travelers will also witness the traditional way of life in picturesque villages, where local women still hand-weave the famous carpets, local craftsmen carve komuz instruments from apricot wood, and farmers grow the renowned Batken rice and delicious apricots.

Transfer from Osh to Abshir-Ata to Batken
08:30. Meeting with the guide, short briefing, and departure from Osh. On the way, stop at the powerful 20-meter-high Abshir-Ata waterfall, cascading from a cave in the wall of a massive canyon.
13:00–14:00. Lunch at a teahouse
17:30. Arrival in Batken, check-in at the hotel.
18:00. Visit to the unique petroglyphs in Buzhum.
19:30. Dinner at the hotel.

Batken – Madigen Geopark
7:00. Breakfast
7:30. Departure to the Geopark. On the way, photo stop at the Tortgul Reservoir.
9:00. Arrival in the village of Samarkandek. Introduction to the local lifestyle, visit to a family workshop where local women weave the famous handmade Batken carpets.
10:00. Transfer to the Sary-Too area. Excursions through the bottom of the vanished sea Jailoo-Uchuu. Stunningly colorful landscapes: Sphinx Valley, Mollusk Valley, Dinosaur Valley, Ancient smelting furnaces from the 9th–10th centuries (Metallurgical center of the Karakhanids and an interesting story about the Kani-Gut cave mine), Valley of the Stone Rainbow, Chalcedony Mountain, Valley of Stone Mushrooms, Aeolian Valley, Tamarisk Valley, and the “Stone Castles” Valley.
14:00. Visit and picnic lunch in a small, picturesque kishlak (village) in the Madigen oasis. There is no mobile signal or electricity here, and life is ascetic. Yet, the breathtaking, majestic landscapes left by the vanished Mesozoic sea remain. These geological landscapes are recognized by scientists as geological heritage of international significance.
15:30. Departure to the grand conglomerate canyon Kyyal. On the way, photo stops along the Batken–Isfana road. Jangakty Canyons.
19:00. Return to Batken. Rest at the hotel.
20:00. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Return to Osh (optional transfer to Khujand (Tajikistan) and onward to Tashkent (Uzbekistan))

12:00. Arrival in the village of Aydarken, visit to the Sel-Unkur Cave – a Paleolithic site of ancient humans. Magnificent landscapes along the way.
14:00. Lunch at a teahouse in the town of Kadamjay.
15:00– . Transfer to Osh. Hiking routes in the Geopark are easy. However, mountain sports shoes are required. In summer, it is advisable to have a hat and sunglasses, as Batken is one of the hottest places in Kyrgyzstan.
