A most interesting trip to one of the most beautiful corners of Tajikistan - Marguzor Lakes.
 
The Marguzor lakes are located in the Sogd region of Tajikistan near ancient Penjikent, in the Fan Mountains, 100 km from Samarkand. Seven most picturesque lakes are hidden in the narrow gorge of the Shing River. The lakes are called Marguzor after the name of the largest lake. Locals simply call this magnificent place – Haftkul (seven lakes) or seven beauties. Each lake has its own name; they are often called simply by numbers. Each lake is beautiful in its own way, but the waters of all lakes fascinate with the tints of color from blue, turquoise and ultramarine to dark purple and change their color depending on the location of the sun.
 
The Seven Lakes are not only a picturesque natural monument of Tajikistan, but also has interesting stories, legends, and an introduction to local culture, way of life of Tajik families in mountain villages.

Itinerary

7.00 - 10.00. Transfer Samarkand - Uzbek-Tajik border - Pendjikent
 
10.00-14.00. Trip and walks, photo sessions on each of the 7 lakes
 
14.00-15.00. Lunch in a guest house in the Pardut village near the Hurdak lake. The smallest of all 7.
 
15.00-16.30. Return to Pendjikent
 
16.30-18.00. Pendjikent tour, bazaar, local history museum
 
18.00-18.30. Transfer to the Tajik-Ubek border.
 
18.30-20.30. Crossing the border and return to Samarkand
