Aral Sea, Ustyurt plateau and Barsa Kelmes salt marsh
ATTENTION! The excursion is individual, for any day you need and DOES NOT IMPLY joining any group.
Aral…..
An adventurous and educational 3-day trip to the most mysterious region of Uzbekistan, where the harsh climate, wild nature and the beauty of the receding sea are harmoniously combined. The bright blue sea against the backdrop of pink, green, white, striped and bizarre faults of the steep shore (chink) turns on the imagination and immerses you in an unknown other world. You will be one of the few who get to see the beauty of the disappearing sea.
More recently, the Aral Sea-lake was the 4th largest lake in the world by area. Today it is only a small area of water near the eastern cliff, but even in this form it looks like a real sea. Along the way you will pass through Lake Sudochye - a bird paradise where hundreds of thousands of birds nest, including migratory pink flamingos. You will swim in the ultra-salty waters of the Aral Sea, see an incredibly beautiful sunset, spend the night in Karakalpak yurts on the seashore, visit the “cemetery” of ships in the former port of Muynak, walk along the vast salt flat of Barsa Kelmes - the bottom of the ancient Tethys ocean, visit the cult complex of Mizdakhkan and the ancient fortress Gyaur-Kala, Saka burial grounds on the Ustyurt plateau and an abandoned village of Old Believers fishermen.
