Today Tashkent is a metropolis with a population of over 3 million people. After the devastating earthquake in 1966, the city was rebuilt and became one of the most beautiful administrative, cultural and industrial centers of Central Asia. The architectural appearance of Tashkent is distinguished by its expressive national flavor: ultra-modern buildings harmoniously combine with medieval monuments, the city has many parks and fountains. - Old city: architectural and religious complex Khast-Imam (Khazret-Imam), with a grandiose Friday mosque, medieval mausoleum Kafal Shashi (16th century), Barak Khan madrasah (16th century), Muyi Muborak madrasah with one of their original Korans of Caliph Osman (7th century), one of the oldest in the world;
