The Astro Park is located at the Kitab International Latitude Station. Here, tourists will learn about the scientific astronomical research conducted at the station, as well as have the opportunity to observe stars, lunar craters, the rings of Saturn, and distant planets through a powerful telescope. The Astro Park also serves as an active museum, as it still utilizes retro equipment and tools that are nearly 100 years old. The park features a 3D cinema, where films about the history of astronomy, planets, and galaxies are shown.
The Kitab Latitude Station was officially opened in late 1930 and, along with other similar observatories located at a northern latitude of 39 degrees 08 minutes, became part of the International Latitude Service for monitoring changes in the Earth's pole position.
Currently, due to the emergence of new technologies, the station is equipped with high-precision GPS instruments and is included in the International GNSS Service (IGS) as a reference station for the Central Asian region. Using the latest satellite navigation technologies, geodynamic processes and tectonic plate movements are studied, and monitoring of Earth's rotation parameters and ionosphere conditions is conducted. The data obtained is used in practical fields for the construction of a regional geodetic network.
