The high-speed train "Jaloliddin Manguberdi" (manufactured by Hyundai Rotem in South Korea) began operating in Uzbekistan on the Tashkent-Khiva-Tashkent route on May 3, 2026. The train is named after Jaloliddin Manguberdi, a national hero and commander who successfully fought against the troops of Genghis Khan, the Khorezmshah.
The train covers the distance from the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, to the popular tourist destination of Khiva (1,020 km) in 7.5 hours, reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h. Along the way, the train makes stops in Uzbekistan's main tourist cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.
The train consists of seven carriages (two VIP carriages with 24 seats, two business-class carriages with 42 seats, and three economy-class carriages with 76 seats). Capacity: 389 passengers. The train's interiors are equipped with climate control, ergonomic seats with multimedia displays, information screens displaying the route and speed, tables, and other amenities for long journeys. A seat reversing system is also available. Accessibility is available for passengers with disabilities and those with reduced mobility. The train is adapted to extreme temperatures (from -40 to +50°C).
