The Bolshoi Chimgan Peak is the dominant peak of the Ugam-Chatkal National Nature Park. It rises above the popular recreation area for Tashkent residents and guests of the capital – the Chimgan ski resort, 85 km from Tashkent. The magnificent views from Bolshoi Chimgan (3309 m) more than compensate for the efforts expended during the ascent. This route is a great opportunity to test yourself and get a lot of positive emotions and unforgettable impressions. The ascent is accessible to almost every healthy person.

Climbing Chimgan (active part of the route 10-12 hours). Return to Tashkent.
In the morning – an early departure from Tashkent at 4:00am is required. Transfer to Chimgan, 2 hours. From the Aksai gorge, a long climb along a good path to the Western ridge of the Big Chimgan begins. As we gain altitude, more and more picturesque panoramas of the surrounding mountains open up, and right below us lies the Chimgan tract.
Alpine vegetation begins to predominate. After several easy "gendarmes" we reach the grotto. We continue the route, overcoming the pre-summit rocky belt.
Here is the summit – 3309m. It is usually windy here, but very beautiful.
A magnificent 360° panorama opens up from Bolshoi Chimgan: Okhotnichy Peak, kilometer-long drops of the legendary Pulatkhan plateau, a weather station on the Beldersay ridge, the turquoise expanse of the Charvak reservoir, the Western Tien Shan ranges - Ugam, Pskem, Chatkal, Karzhantau - are in full view. After the photo session, we descend into the Aksai gorge (along the way up).
Near the Chimgan complex, a vehicle is already waiting for the group. We load up, and after a 20-minute drive we find ourselves on the shore of the Charvak reservoir. The sunset panoramas of Charvak, when the water of the lake smoothly changes its blue to orange, are fantastically beautiful.
A 2-hour drive and we are back in Tashkent.
